Pros

Tungsten carbide scraper throws a shower of sparks. Works great with cotton ball and vaseline jelly.

This is my first fire starter and i researched several others as well as different designs. Arrived on time. Could not be happier with it. Decent fire starter.

The polystriker xl is a very well designed, rugged and effective ferro rod. The ferrocerium is significantly thicker than a lot of ferro rods. The striker is just amazing.

Product protects your bic lighter from disaster in your pack. Works a lot better than the cheaper chinese knockoffs.

Cons

The striker is minimal size and minimally effective. Striker is one of the worse i have as well. It is compact and cool in that regard but can’t light well enough to make it worth it.

Only issue is the lanyard isnt long enough to have a long enough range of travel to strike the rod efficiently with the striker

5 long but with the striker built in the handle this is the longest of my fire starters

Competitiveness

I have a half dozen ferrocerium fire starters this is the best

After trying serveral different fire starter this one is the best

Had to replace the lanyard with some paracord 4 mm

I also have firestarters from esee ust strike force and bear grylls
