As far as the color discrepancy everyone is mentioning, these gloves definitely appear either blue or purple in different lighting.

They look purple to me but as you can see by my photo they appear blue in certain lighting.

They are pretty durable, i've caught em with forks before and they didn't rip, though they don't hold up to knives well.

The color looks more blue violet in person as opposed to purple shown in the picture.

I wouldn't say that these are a great value for the price, as it seems relatively easy to find other, similar weight nitrile gloves, which i would expect to be the same quality as these, at a lower price, though perhaps not with the convenience of amazon's delivery.
