You do need a good filter in it and ive ordered this replacement filter before and it works great so i was very disappointed when it was not available

The bigger downside rests in the terrible fit of these particular filters they don’t fit snugly or click into place the result being that when you go to pull the vacuum chamber and filter out of the canister the filter just pops off
