We ended up putting a piece of tape on the speaker which is on the bottom to mute the music a little bit

I also followed the recommendations of another reviewer who gave instructions for disabling the speaker

Just remove the 8 or so screws from the perimeter of the base lift the bottom panel up and clip the two wires running to the speaker

And even though there were probably a dozen or more other wires there were only 2 connected to the speaker
