The inside of the cover is covered with a velvety or suedelike texture apart from the plastic frame that grips the ipad which is an uncovered plastic moulding

When used as a stand it’s the outer surface of the case that sits on the table unlike the apple case

So if the table turns out to be dirty that dirt would stay on the outer surface of the case and wouldn’t get transferred to the screen of the ipad
