This is an amazing product for not only breaking up hard clay, cement-like soil, but providing much-needed food and nutrients for your growing plants. Your plants will grow super fast, and you'll notice a lot more earthworm activity in the soil. You'll also use less water when watering your plants, because the water will be able to sink into the soil, instead of just running off.I bought a house with a Lisbon lemon tree last year, which wasn't really cared for by the previous owners. There were many tree suckers, and it had a lot of dead branches and leaves on the bottom portion of the tree canopy, and growing wildly at the top due to bad pruning. After getting the tree professionally pruned, I bought citrus fertilizer from a home improvement store thinking that's all it needed. But after a year of very little improvement, besides it growing into a better shape, I decided to pay more attention to it. (I wanted to enjoy lemons!)It seemed dehydrated to me, because the branches were so brittle, and the leaves lacked color. When I watered it, I noticed that the water would run off. (The tree is on a very slight hill.) My parents criticized that the soil was like cement, and that it was too compacted and rock-hard for the water to be able to sink in.After doing some research, I was planning to use garden gypsum to break up the soil, but because I wanted the tree to improve as well, I went with this product instead. I applied 1 cup of greensand around the base of the tree, and 1 foot past the drip line of the tree. After a couple of days of rain, I decided to test the soil if I can till it. I was amazed at how fast it was able to soften up the soil. I was able to gently till in some organic chicken manure and Epsom salt.The tree is doing phenomenal, putting out an endless supply of flowers, and I'm finally seeing future lemons! I'm so happy, that I've even used this product with 10 rose bushes that were also doing poorly, by applying 1/4 of a cup to each bush. I winter-pruned very late into February, but I'm already seeing rose buds, because the water doesn't run off onto the lawn anymore. I would definitely repurchase this product again and again!  Read Less
