Pros & Cons
Pros
The hand crank is perfect and the customer service was stellar. My only complaint is that the smallest allen wrench they give you doesn't fit the set screws.
I am 6'2 and it has helped me adjust the desk to properly type/work while sitting and standing. You just need to fully insert the driveshaft all the way into the outer cog in order to get that leg to raise. This means i just have one cable (the power ... Read More
The product is sturdy and well made. Crossbars, base, and all parts are made of heavy steel. The bases are very sturdy and assembled easy enough, cranking is easy and smooth enough.
The frame is quite sturdy, no risk of tipping. It easily cranks up or down. I think that is more function of having both my monitors on adjustable flex arms than the table frame though.
Cons
The desk arrived defective, there is a gear missing so there is nothing to crank. Also, the size is between 1/8 and 7/64; an infinitesimal increment, but also non-standard.
Highlights
Quality
The frame is quite sturdy no risk of tipping
Very sturdy quality material and when fully extended it is quite stable
Crossbars base and all parts are made of heavy steel
Even the drive shaft that goes from side to side so that the legs go up in unison didnt match the instructions
Price
The prices vary from really cheap to really expensive
I ruled out an electrical system because of cost complexity an irony
You get a nice desk while saving money
Packaging/appearance
Arrives well packed into a long rectangular box
Easy assembly well packaged to prevent damage in transit sturdy desk with a smooth mechanism to adjust the height from sitting to standing
I found one of the maple butcher block counter tops also on amazon that i then stained sealed and attached to the base
Once its assembled its easier to move around but in the box its an awkward handful
Competitiveness
This desktable base is an excellent alternative to more expensive electric ones
It is about the same complexity is building something from ikea
The price is more than reasonable given the high quality of the product
