The remote only worked within about 1012 ft from unit

Difficult to see from some distance ie across the lake or from the roadthey did prove to be waterproof as one end of the strand fell about 23 ft into the water and laid submerged for days but still worked when we got it out and reattached it to the wall

I turned off the power to both on the solar panel and installed them anyway leaving them to charge for a couple of days before turning them on
