I tried an aftermarket one once and it was too inconsistent in both color rendition and application continuity

Also ive run these cartridges to dead empty well past the replace message until the unit stops printing and tells you to change the cartridge to reset the lockout

Thats less likely with aftermarket cartridges because they do not communicate the same way so the limited savings isnt really worth the risk of a dry line and a head thats lost the vacuum
