Normally thick cables are stiff as hell and hard to work with

I bought this hoping the switch was closer to the outlets as i wanted to be able to operate a water pump without having to pull the items plug out pump doesnt have its own onoff switch but the switch on the cord is actually 4ft from the plug as a opposed to 4ft from the the outlets
