Pressing a part directly into the putty will result in it being to deep thus giving you huge flange on the reproduced part that would need to be trimmed not to mention that the copy will be thicker

I tried a clear epoxy and even white glue but those developed many tiny air bubbles late in the cure thus producing unacceptable results so all i can say is try what you want but experiment first

However you need to press it down firmly around the master and avoid smearing it it doesnt flow naturally into the detail of the master like the more liquid twopart silicone mold materials do so youve got to press it into the detail

Took some trial and error but i made a hot glue rubber cast of the chewed post and colored it with brown magic marker
