It's astonishing what goes on unseen beneath our feet. Very informative and brilliantly researched. None are overstated.

The author's fascination and knowledge of his subject is very well conveyed. The author sometimes overstates his case, but he's a fine writer with encyclopedic knowledge.

Cons
