Pros
Steven pinker's book is a passionate plea to trust the enlightenment era ideas of science, reason, and humanism. Pinker demonstrates with eye popping evidence how much the human condition has vastly improved over the past 200 years.

But couldn't get past the negative tone and overalls assumptions. Politics is not enlightenment. There was no democracy.
