I note that the biggest criticism of this torch is that the light only stays on when the button is kept depressed

Not only does the american version stay on when the button is depressed until it is switched off again it has a second mode which starts the light flashing

The downside of course is the postage cost of obtaining the american version which may put folk off from buying one
