Im not sure im a fan of the velcro closure style but it does work ok for keeping them closed up

The stirrup strap is webbing that on one end is punched to go into a belt buckle like buckle on one side

It was tricky to get the strap through the buckle and get it stowed

The other side only has a strap clip that i fear might not hold up

Once you have strapped the top of the gaiter there really isnt anywhere to stow the dangling end of the strap
