The book is very sobering, graphic, and detailed. I feel that this book presents a well-researched view that is not biased. Thoughtful presentation without ostentatiousness.

In a sense, * realizes (or should have realized) that his army was doomed at some point. In *’s twisted mind, his generals need to literally fight to the death.

A story more captivating than any fictional novel. Author gives the when, how and why which completes the picture in my mind of this infamous debacle. This is nearer to the complete picture than memoirs i've read.
