What i mean by that is if you adjust it to say 18 and your dog pulls on the leash the collar will stay the same in size and will not slowly slide and become larger as was the case with the kong collars i had previously purchased for my shepherd mix who likes to pull i went through 4 different kong collars and went back and for the with the company over the same issue before i gave up i originally purchased this collar for my newly adopted lab because of the availability and how affordable it was
