Emile henry products are nice to eat out of that is until they crack. Almost every piece we have had has cracked.

However can become slippery and awkward to hold when refreshing the water especially if you have small hands on occasion pieces of butter fall in the water

The pottery had some black marks on it which i really didnt expect with emile henry the red is not a bright glaze but more of a matte finish

You have to cut butter quarters in half and then smoosh them into the lid for them to fit but in return you get fresh room temperature butter

When i ordered it 1 week before christmas the package was late which could be due to a blizzard in south dakota at that time
