This unit is somewhat more quiet than the average ac unit only on the lowest fan setting

My other disappointment is the remote it is very thin and small and sometimes i have to press the buttons several times to get what i want

I found this brand new model online here at amazon no reviews at all when i purchased the unit and didnt hesitate

If you need your room to be freezing however look for an 8000 or 10000 btu unit

I tried the keystone lcd 5000 btu windowair conditioner kstaw05ce which got such high ratings but found it extremely noisy and sent it back

I ended up turning the unit off and then back on and it seemed to work better
