The darker colors are not very transparent, but the lighter ones are. I have a color-coding system that i use to help me organize my research and these page tab colors coordinate with my highlighting color-code system.

The rectangle and arrow styles are the most useful. They work great for contracts or for correcting papers. The variety of shapes gives you a lot of options if you're trying to differentiate between different types of notations.
