If you want to mount them slanting back toward the wall make sure the hooks are pointing the opposite way ie bike leaning to right will need hook pointing from right to left

You will see in my photos that i used a pack of multi fix bolts 10mm thick to secure the rack and i used the central 2 x holes in the bracket rather than the 4 x holes that the instructions show you to use you wont get these 10mm fixings into the standard holes

This means if you wanted to relocated the bracket in a few inches you will need to find a small nut and bolt to pop through the holes which are not threaded

I would say one bar supports 3 x mountain bikes in a top to tail setup see my photo to show how the bikes have been hung
