For attaching wires the instructions were to use the iron to heat the wire on top of the joints but i found i had to leave the iron on for a loooong time the solder included is leadfree which melts at a higher temp and it seemed too difficult to attach wires

A little research showed me that fresh solder on the joints would make them melt much easier though i still couldnt seem to get the wick to work the way i expected it to

I have soldered since i was too young to hold the hot iron but thats what i did today because the stand was so flimsy

The desoldering wick didnt work for me though and i ended up taking it to the lab i worked at and used their desoldering pump to save the parts

There is stage where theyll tell you to solder on the wrong resistors to practice removing them

But removing is a pain so i dont recommend it
