With the children doing school this has been a life saver.
I am very happy with this pencil sharpener.
The removable door is not good quality though and will break of at some point.
Stick with the plug-in adapter - it provides plenty of power and you won't risk a usb port overload.
Only concern is the build quality of the plastic cover over shreddings.

Once the pencil is sharp, the feed becomes much harder, so wasting pencil is not an issue.

What you need to do is to use thumbs from both of your hands to push the cover out.
