Quality

Overall i am extremely happy with the elac speaker and cambridge cxa81 combination

They sound slightly more spacious with the grilles off but i often keep them on because they look so nice

Granted it’s a quality 50w but still it’s not a giant powerhouse amp

I mean i know they are good quality speakers and all but there are lots of good speakers from many different companies out there

Competitiveness

Add these to your 80w per channel receiver or amp and you might not even have to upgrade the system

Second these sound great a little warmer than the ub5 and i like it

I was on the fence with purchasing these or the competitor klipsch 600m also highly rated by the audiophiles on youtube

So i’m pushing a whopping 50w per channel into these speakers

But as you listen to them you realize that there are no frequencies that are unnaturally boosted or cut

Some speakers might sound great at first but then after long term listening they can become fatiguing or you realize there are things missing

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

They also arent picky about where you put them they dont really need to be toed in toward you in fact in my room they sound best about 334 from the wall with no toe in

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Because they have very low distortion they dont sound as loud as many other speakers when you really turn them up

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Many speakers have significant distortion at higher listening levels which makes them sound louder than they really are playing

Then i stuck the speakers to the stands with four small dabs of blue tak

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I think i could have gone with the 2834 stands and may try raising these up 434 to see if they would sound better on 2834 stands

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I get reasonable bass down to 40hz but in my room i run two subs with them
