Pros
Works like a champ. Easy to set up compared to other brands. Another difference between the pro style and the cylinder is the pro is still german made.
These are well made filters, if not a bit idiosyncratic. Filtration is fantastic, prefilter works great, and i can get this thing cleaned out and attached back to the tank with little effort and no mess.

The total price was about 104 including shipping a tremendous value for a filter that usually sells for over 200
The 104 shipped price was a real bargain
The price went up quicklywithin a day or two of my purchase
Packaging/appearance
Again the fluval 305 is just a bit louder the eheim pro3 2073
Competitiveness
I brought this filter for extra filtration for my 40 gallon aquarium which currently running a fluval 305
Unlike the cylindrical eheim canisters this one had very good instructions
Amazonhas a nos 2073 for well over 300 which makes it a questionable value at this price point
I have several eheim canisters however this is my first pro 3 series
