The only complaint i have is that the buttons can freely spin which is fine for the normal buttons but for the player and coin buttons sets off my ocd trying to keep them aligned correctly

The first is just opening the buttons as i have never worked with this type of button

The attached picture shows the button and microswitch disconnected

You can see the slot on the microswitch that the nub on the button goes in

The second gotcha was that there are two places on the usb encoder that the joystick connector can fit in

Fyi about half of the lights didnt work but that wasnt a concern for me

I didnt want the buttons to light up but i tested them anyway to see how many of them would work
