Pros

But if you want to try it, this one is about the most reasonable price to find.

Cons

Doesn't go in the ground very far no matter the dryness of soil. Jammed immediately. The dirt plugs get so jammed in the rate spikes i spent most of the time digging the dirt plugs out.

Had some spots in the lawn where the grass was thinning

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Thought perhaps the soil there was simply compacted and a plug aerator would help loosen it

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Turns out it was shallow tree roots

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Its been 2 months and i can still find the row of holes

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

If the holes have remained thru that i struggle to understand how they would help in compacted soil

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

If you have super hard turf like i do tines will have hard time cutting the 3 deep they are not sharp

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I weigh 165 lbs im standing on the aerator with all my weight its not cutting well

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Have to gyrate the handle to finally cut down into ground which means each set of holes may take up to 30 seconds including cleaning out the tines each time
