This thing has a condenser for the freezer and an ice maker. Simple and easy just like your freezer/fridge combo. The only draw back is that you might have to defrost it about every 3 months.
Cons
Edgestar's ice maker broke after 3 years of service. The warranty is only 12 months. Amazon says the vendor owes the refund. The ice maker is not an ice maker, but an ice-maker.
Water overflows from the dispenser that creates a pool that is so deep it freezes the bin in place. Appears to be a leak in the system and has lost it's refrigerant. Fan turns on, but freezer doesn't cool and no ice is produced.
Not loud or anything. It's not a big deal, but it's annoying. Complete garbage. Piece of junk now.

Makes nice big ice cubes easy to install but if you want it in a room where you want quiet this is not the icemaker for you it is a bit noisy

When reviewing under counter ice makers one has to be careful because many of those that produce more than 10 or 12 lbs a day dont actually have a freezer just an insulated box so the ice thaws and drains

I disconnected the line for the fridge and used the port to hook up this ice maker

Unfortunately arrived with an exterior corner dent but since it was cosmetic going under counter would be hidden and would not affect the operation per plumber it was not worth returning
