If you have a three way then you have the choice of using either of the copper colored screw terminals it really doesnt matter

The product has two back clamps on the hot black screw so if you have to pass through wires due to lazy electricians then you are good to go with a safe connection in the back which will be independent to the local switch current most people will never need this feature

This is because we are now so energy efficient that 6 highhats in a den with led g7 bulbs might only be drawing about 9 watts each 9 watts x 6 bulbs 54 watts total
