Pros & Cons
Pros
I use it mostly because it's a great money saver. It is substantially denser than the premade fountain filters. Works perfectly in my litter robot 3.
The only downside is that some charcoal powder falls out when i'm cutting the sheet. I use my cheapo kitchen scissors to cut it, which works fine.
Cons
After washing several times still have carbon flowed out. There is a distinct odor from the silicon and plastic, and the exterior is tacky. I am sure this sheet carbon does a little bit of something, but it's just a teeny bit and not noticeable.
Highlights
Quality
Price very well arrived very quickly good reliable product
Plus i got basically two years worth of filters with the size i need to cut out
The filters are small and rectangular a one inch wide strip from the short edge of this pad will yield two filters for the waterer
Its a bit stiff but im an old woman with somewhat arthritic hands and i can handle cutting it with the cheap kitchen scissors
Competitiveness
I have an eheim canister filter so i like to cut my own filter circles
I cut small pieces of this to put inside my aquaclear powerhead filter attachment which has a narrow opening
