Pros & Cons
Pros
It was great to see james patterson write in this genre. Good reading but not all at once. Worth buying used books, was in “like new’ condition for only $5 with shipping.
The stories are gut-wrenching and heroic. Many are tales of death, and life at its most razor-edge times.
Cons
Nurses are not heroes. Overpaid and whiny, yes. Their big on air bragging rights are a serious flop. Like nurses passing out from co2 buildup in their masks- pure garbage.
The book lacks any reliability to the reader. I wasn't able to finish the book. While its a book of anecdotal stories by nurses it's mostly from critical care nurses, etc with little to do about the er.

I do not think anyone could survive the job of nursing if they did not feel the pull of helping their patients

It was also difficult to hear about the ptsd many nurses experience and how management often leaves them out to dry
