My tile isnt glossy smooth and i actually didnt like the suction cup hanger so i got a medium metal command hook made for the bath command modern reflections metal large hook satin nickel to hang it on and it looks and works great
We have rough tile walls in our new shower and although we added niches we didnt add anything to hold soap or razors so that they didnt sit on the tile shelf
