There is no plastic cover or shade over the led’s the leds sit right out in the open

They do generate heat like most led bulbs because of the builtin power supply i measured the temperature in the fixture and then after i removed the bulb to confirm my reading see photo

The 20watt ones are very compact lightweight and fit in spots many led bulbs and cfl with this much light output won’t fit

Quality means something here each light had a protective plastic cover that covered the part that screws into the socket

These lights are perfectly bright they dont flicker they all turn on at the same time and shut off at the same time

The good white color is excellent brightness very good construction impressivethe weird for the first week or so after i installed them they would flash for lt 1 second every 10 seconds or so when turned off
