Thats because of the quality of the light beam it emits

Most flashlights tend to focus their beam into a somewhat narrow width with the light brightest at the center then tapering off toward the edges

It cycled through the modes correctly with a heavy click of the button but when not pushing the power button it would change modes on its own or shut off
