It had the same issues with the faceplate
That to me is not a deterrent i would recommend this product

Easy to install and works great as a remote onoff it lacks withe temp control the internal thermometer is not very accurate

One feature if you go out and forget to turn off your fp you can check it on your smart phone and turn it off or on from there

The only thing i dont like is that it does not recognize dstst time change and the timers have to be reset when the clocks change not really a big deal since most of us wouldnt be using a fp during daylight savings time anyway
