One of the standout items in the kit is the set of dice. The dice are of high quality, with a satisfying weight and feel. Buying these separately is 20 clams, granted you get a lot more sheets and a few extras.
Cons
It's very flimsy and lacks the necessary weight to stand upright without contorting back to its original shape. This feels really predatory. Buy lost mines of phandelver instead.

I repeat as a player of dd it is great but not so much in the way of the dungeon master dm

You and some friends could easily get someone to dm and be fine to live this storyline as beginning dd players but as a dm or even advanced players this is not for those people
