This doorbell camera is not good for diy home owner. Initial setup failed by hik-connect app. Doorbell blink red after power outage and door bell fail to come back on wifi network.

I have 3w led lights always lighting my porch so unfortunately i cannot comment on the night vision quality

First of all i have used hikvisions products security cameras and dvr for the past 6 years and this includes hacking the dvr board to reinstall the software so i consider myself somewhat experienced with this manufacturer and their products

The installation was glitchy until i read on a post to disable cellular data and then the installation proceeded without problems the programming of the unit requires one to log into the doorbell as a wireless access point and for some reason when the phone that i was using to access the wireless access point switched over to my regular wifi access point the installation failed but again turning off the cellular data allowed the installation to proceed

I have the unit facing the street and had to highly limit the all the parameters for motion detection else a simple vehicle passing by 20 away would be recognized as movement 5 away

I would like to had a wired network connection but this only connects via wifi it is on its own vlan

However if anyone connects the camera using hikconnect and to the dvr using onvif at the same time

One of the connection will be disconnected which explain why many buyers have disconnect with loss of connection issues

Which is unfortunate as hikconnect has features that my dvr doesnt have egalert when someone press the door bell

Meanwhile dvr has function that is superior eg continuous recording without memory card on the camera or cloud storage
