Squirrels don't get flung from the feeder. They are surprised but not hurt. The feeder can even be attached to a deck railing.

Cons
The squirrel gets its paw in the slot at the bottom of the port. The squirrel then drops down, eats the food, then repeats the process all day long. After the first few weeks, no squirrels go near the feeder so it’s just like any other feeder.
It is way too expensive for a paperweight. Conveniently, their warranty is only one year as well.
