Pros & Cons

Pros

Several birds sit on the tray to feed as well as the feeder itself. This tray allows larger birds to perch and feed from the tray.

It fits my droll yankees a-6rp feeder well. All the birds like it, but especially the cardinals. Will need to order or purchase the screw plug. Bought to replace my mother’s older yankee feeder.

This does a good job of catching falling seed so the ground below doesn't look a mess. It scares them sometimes, because the suspension lets it move, but they manage just fine. We have it installed outside a second story window to entertain our cats.

Extremely easy install with sturdy insert. Comes with a nut for easy attachment & removal. Easy cleaning so critical to maintaining healthy birds is at your fingertips.

Cons

This is the 2nd order of this product that arrived without the connecting nut. Without it, the tray is useless.

It does have tiny holes around the edges i think they might be for draining if it gets wet in the rain so tiny seeds like nyjer sometimes fall out

However it also allows “piggy pigeons” a place to sit and act like gluttons

I think that the central attachment hole is the weak point

There are small holes in the bottom for drainage

When birds drop seeds many land in the tray

This in turn attracts more birds even breeds that cannot feed from a bird perch

I opted to spend a little more and get the bigger size

Birds eat up what’s spilled in the tray and i’m seeing more action because the ground feeders are there now
