Usually wed guestimate by placing the luggage on a digital scale but it wouldnt always fit on the scale which would lead to inaccurate numbers

Have had luggage scales before and they have been very flimsy

One final note – the instructions are pretty good but fail to mention that the installed battery has a plastic protector in the battery compartment for shipping so the scale won’t turn on until you pull out the battery and the piece of plastic and reinsert the battery

If you travel at all this seems to be a no brainier as it will more than pay for itself the first time you get dinged for an overweight bag
