    They require that you have 2 different test solutions of exact ph and then you press and hold buttons while theyre immersed in each so that they electronically recalibrate to the solutions

    It would take me 5 or 6 ties each time before i held the buttons in the right order and waited for the lights to flash the correct number of times

    Mixing them yourself is messy and time consuming but the ph test solutions they require are not normally sold premixed

    I have also found that these with an screw adjustment seem to keep their calibration much longer without needed correction while the electronic selfcalibrating meter would frequently be out of adjustment
