This lamp meet all of my expectations! Bought these for a scheduled power outage by our electric company for 12+ hours one night, maybe longer. These are very cute and perfect weight but the light will really surprise you!

They create wonderful pools of soft light when strategically located in the garden. My timid cat louie loves it in his den under the stairwell. It's a nice, soft light which makes the camper feel very cozy.

With the shade off, it's as bright and straightforward as a flashlight. More important, it is essential for exploring the wilds of a marina in search of a restroom after dark. It comfortably lite my room.

Dorcy lantern is great but the specs here incorrectly say you need 4 d batteries. They are great when the power goes out - so much brighter & safer than kerosene lanterns or candles. Only they take 4 d size batteries, which can get expensive.

These lamps are a tremendous disappointment and completely useless. Not up to amazon standards and should be discontinued. They are shabby and don't work.

Light is bright and diffused with the shade, but the handle is very flimsy. They are convenient on the outside however once you use them, it only takes a couple of hours for the batteries to be dead. Each lamp requires four d batteries (expensive!
