Amazingly simple to set up helped with an alzheiment patient told them not to fool with it when door opened we knew he was about to wonder got it for trips and vacationsat home our security system has a chime function which we turned on that way any door opens we get a beep beep beepif you rent or vacation at a home ask if their security has the chime function helps a ton

You uncoil the string loop that you hang around the door knob then put the metal prong in the door crack the metal prong is inside the alarm you will see where to pull it out from the end with the string loop

When you put the battery cover back on if you are holding the prong like i was on the first one the alarm will go off and scare the daylights out of you

The biggest disadvantage i find for these little alarms is that you must remove the battery cover and pull out at least one of the two button batteries to disarm it which means you must reassemble it all to rearm it again later

The only thing that could be improved on is that the alarm is not ear piercing
