Pros & Cons
Pros
Easy to setup and sharpens hair popping sharp. At least as sharp as factory. Some sharpener.
There are two tightening brass one for setting blade thickness and plastic one for tightening the clamp. Lansky guide clamp seems to be a little more manageable than the dmt aligner clamp.
Whetstones are great but require re-dressing and drying before storing. It is petty well designed imo.
Great bang for your buck. Great seller.
Cons
Qc leaves a lot to be desired. The way it works is very frustrating to use.
The "non blade marring clamp" should really be called "cheaper to manufacture clamp" the dmt sharpening stones are good, but the guide was broken when i received it. The plastic knife clamp is $12.
Highlights
Quality
I bought this kit to learn how to freehand sharpen overall i am pleased with the kit
Quality product that has fulfilled my expectations
The clamp is adequate but i feel for that price a higher quality one should be supplied
If you buy this to sharpen scissors you will be disappointed
Price
If you buy the double sided dmt sharpeners that are included with this kit on their own the cost is more than the kit
The bulk of the cost is for the hones so it was money well spent i just wish they had a better guide system
Shipping
I have been sharpening knifes for 65 years and never thought it could be this fast and easy

I found the aligner easy to use and setup
Competitiveness
It works as it should but i find the lansky guide clamp seems to be a little more manageable than the dmt aligner clamp
I got it because i needed diamond to hone a maxamet blade and now i use it on all my knives instead of my expensive shapton stones
