Pros & Cons

Pros

The versatility and portability of this system is outstanding. There's a few reviews from people that mistake their user error for a defective product. Works exactly as advertised.

Whetstones are great but require re-dressing and drying before storing. The diamond stones are less messy than than regular sharpening stones because they don't require neither water, nor oil.

The only downside is that sometimes the sharpening stone dislodged from the guide. The angle guide is so important to keep your bevels even and not convex. They move freely when unlocked.

The clamp secures the blade firmly. I like that it locks the blade into a specific angle (so hard to do freehand) it does a better job holding a knife than my lansky kit.

Cons

This kit is so bad, i honestly wander if its a knockoff. The plastic knife clamp is $12. The dmt sharpening stones are good, but the guide was broken when i received it.

Competitiveness

It works as it should but i find the lansky guide clamp seems to be a little more manageable than the dmt aligner clamp

I got it because i needed diamond to hone a maxamet blade and now i use it on all my knives instead of my expensive shapton stones
