With my epiphone sheraton into a small 5watt amp this pedal can get you in and around the level of crunch that clapton had on bluesbreakers
Holds up well against some of the expensive alternatives
Theres really no need to spend the extra money on a tubescreamer if that will prevent you from buying something else you need for your gear

Speaking of the battery though the pedal light may shine brighter when a not included 9v power supply is plugged in the sound does not differ plugged in or not
