Thats a matter of unscrewing the pentop inserting the lancet into its holder twisting the protective plastic off the lancet to expose the needle and screwing the top on again

I then set the depth that the needle would penetrate to by turning the very tip of the pen

With the device facing towards you you orient the strip so it shows arrows pointing downward and then pop it in the slot

As soon as i inserted the strip the device beeped and the display showed it was ready to go with a blood droplet symbol

It quickly made a beep and the display started a countdown from 5

I pushed the side switch on the device to eject the used strip into the bin and the device turned off

I then unscrewed the pen removed the lancet capped the needle with the plastic twist off cap and disposed of it then screwed the pen top back on
