The elongated holes are simply just barely long enough to allow it to be lifted to table height

Just fyi the extension is fixed to the saw with bolts so theres no taking it on an off depending on the need

At first i thought it wouldnt work on my 709 but with a little more patience i got it into place such that the plate is even with the saw turntable
