Pros
Light and easy to use, cut120 meters of mixed beech and hawthorn hedging with ease. Takes the hassle and worry about cutting through the power lead makes the job so much easier. Large edges & they do the job brilliantly for me.
Price seems to fluctuate between suppliers so worth waiting. Please send donations to.
The batteries are interchangeable with other smaller hand tools. As all of my dewalt tools take the same batteries it's a no brainer. Love it but recommend the 5 amp battery for it, plenty of power without running out of battery life.
All in all it is a very impressive piece of kit. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Usual dewalt brand quality.
It is of course not as powerful as a 240 volt, but coped fine with branches about the thickness of my forefinger when it had to. Not too heavy and easy to use, feels safe as well as requires 2 * to operate.

The trimmer operates very well with the 2ah but it operates noticeably faster and with greater cutting power if you use a 5ah battery

I use a 4ah xr battery which gives enough time to cut all hedges in my garden
I stuck on a 5ah dewalt xr 18v battery and this thing tore through the bushes
Useing a 5ah li battery for 45min barely took 1st dot off the battery capacity

Package arrived on time you have to use 2 hands all the time it can not be used 1 handed unlles you tape the safety handle closed which i do not recommend

Over the years ive used petrol and electric with a cable trimmers and both do the job but are heavy and unwieldy especially from a ladder

I would suggest a sensible limit for its cutting action would be 12cm branches

Anything thicker and it struggles but its a trimmer not a saw
