You definitely do not want to breathe in the gas it produces as it is a breathing irritant but dont let that intimidate you as long as you follow the safety precautions to the letter

Over thanksgiving i went crabbing and had a leak in the plastic bag which contained ice and freshly steamed crabs and the crabs melted some of the ice which leaked out all over the rear floor mat and got into the carpet

While still holding my breath i made sure that the packet was thoroughly wet and then jumped out of the car locked the doors and left the safety card on the window to remind myself not to open the car

Exactly six hours later aired out the car per the instructions just fully opened all the doors and let stand for around 15 minutes with the breeze to ensure all the gas had dissipated and left the cabin
